The Cosmic Blade

Description

This was a custom ordered piece of art designed around the space themed concept.  The blade was constructed from 26c3.  A differential heat treatment was performed  including claying as well as an interrupted edge quench to create an extraterrestrial looking finish when submerged in an acid bath.  The handle was constructed from African Ebony wood, Damascus spacers made in house, and Rainbow Fluorite that sets it off with the colors of the universe.  In the bolster is dust recovered from a lunar asteroid that hit north Africa encapsulated in resin.  Thats right…  actual moon dust!!  The pummel is equally extraterrestrial as well as it contains an real meteorite that was recovered in Argentina then drilled, tapped, and also encapsulated in a clear resin to help balance the blade as well as set it off!!
